This is a book written at a lower level but has a story that would interest a high school student.I read this in school and I liked it, but it was short. A short story by Alan Gratz called Resist that is a companion to Allies and tells the story of Samira after she and the Allies sabotage the train as she tries to rescue her mother. :(A quick and appropriate read for my fourth graders. And it was about this girl named Samira who works for the French Resistance. However, these I would totally recommend it to anyone! The first part “D-Day – Normandy 1944 - Understanding the historical context” is intended to serve as a quick reference guide for educators. D-Day is quickly approaching when Samira's mother is captured. Samira and her mother work for the French Resistance.
