No idea what there is to do in Aiken however.

I was not overly impressed by Blackberry Farm. The wait staff was slow and somewhat inexperienced.

However, The one time I was there I was driving through to Greenwood and had some rednecks in a truck drooling out there truck window at me.

There's not much to do in Aiken. The last time we were there everything was fine except for the dinner service. Maybe worth a look-see.Nothing is going to come close to Blackberry Farms. Over time, the idea of a second hotel was born—a sort of adventure-movie alternative to Blackberry Farm’s Southern romance. We enjoyed it so much, we're sending my in-laws for a long weekend in October. Directions to Beechwood Inn - use Ike's directions but turn at the light in Clayton onto 76 East.

Luxury Hotels and Travel - Quick comparison - Inn at Blackberry Farm / Inn at Palmetto Bluff - Recently had the chance to stay at two "luxe" Southern inns/resorts, Blackberry Farm and Palmetto Bluff, on consecutive weekends. I was glad to jump the light and leave them behind. The Garrett's own The Willcox and The Point, Lake Placid Lodge in Upstate NY and Inn of Five Graces in SF, NM......I have stayed at all three and promise you will love The Willcox. I am just itching to go to Dancing Bear Lodge.

If anyone has been there please reply. Beechwood is just down the road. I've not stayed here, but a friend loves it.

I've bookmarked it as an option - since I drive by what feel like almost weekly.

Our first four visits were perfect, with incredible service, amazing food, and just a wonderful experience. There is a SC State Resort near Strom Thurmond Lake, which is nice, and even has a golf course. What about the Inn at the Biltmore?
