Memory & Motivation Board
Almost as soon as I moved into my new apartment back in March, I imagined having a big board above my desk with all my photos and post cards and trinkets from my life and travels. I finally had the opportunity to put together what I am calling my Memory & Motivation Board. Since it is a collection of so many fond travel memories, good friends, special moments, and also contains motivational phrases, I thought that was a more suitable name than what most call a vision board.
Farmer’s Market
So today I finally took the walk a handful of blocks over to the Hillcrest Farmer’s Market. I wasn’t sure exactly how long it would take, so I suited up in workout gear. It wasn’t necessary, it turns out.
La Cucina Bella
One of the items I desperately needed for my kitchen – pots and pans. I found myself at Bed, Bath & Beyond, a store I truly have not stepped foot in, in forever and a day. As I wandered up and down the aisles, I sensed my “kitchen gadgets” list growing longer by the second. So I scooted over to the pots and pans so I could focus on what I came for in the first place.
Aria’s settling in nicely.
The weather has been a bit chilly this week. And this being an old building, I’m sure there is not much insulation in the walls. So I’ve been waking up and turning on this ancient heating device in the living room. It’s gas powered and actually does a very good job.
Happy Easter 2013!
Last night, I baked cupcakes. This doesn’t seem like all that big of a deal. But please remember that I really don’t have a hearty supply of baking dishes, ingredients or the tools to make elaborate creations at this point.
Something to sit on.
My dad hates IKEA. I’m not sure I love it, but it does offer affordable furniture options. And that’s what I need right now. I researched and measured, imagined and drew out the room on graph paper. I decided I’d get the Karlstad sofa with a foot stool.
Treasures Revealed
Ten o’clock couldn’t come quick enough today. My dad showed up with a truck full of boxes. These boxes have been in his storage shed for two years now. They were all the items I sent from Vietnam.
