Happy Easter 2013!
Last night, I baked cupcakes. This doesn’t seem like all that big of a deal. But please remember that I really don’t have a hearty supply of baking dishes, ingredients or the tools to make elaborate creations at this point.
But I do have determination. About two weeks ago, I found this photo on Pinterest:
And once I did, regardless of my lack of a cupcake pans, I became determined to bake these cupcakes for Easter this year. And so, after the purchase of baking pans, cake mix, eggs and oil, the frosting, yellow sanding, mini chocolate chips and orange icing, I give you my cupcake results for Easter 2013:
Note bad, eh? I’m a wee bit impressed with myself, even! My niece loved the little birds and I was glad I made both the big and mini versions of these special treats. There is no doubt I have room for improvement. The feet on these poor chicks are atrocious. I started to add their wings and decided it was not worth the effort. And I didn’t have the piping tools to put the itty bitty white dots on the eyes. Oh well. My niece deemed Auntie Shanna’s cupcakes, “Sooo cuuute!” She also said, “OMG, these are so yummy.” She’s five. That’s the only seal of approval I need!
